Biography
Born in Osaka, Japan. Harumi began by studying Art. She spent many hours oil painting, water color, pastel and ink painting.
In 1991, she moved to
Australia to get in touch with the art of native Australian, Aboriginals.
She discovered many kinds of cosmetics at that time when she worked at the cosmetic section of a duty-free-store in the Gold Coast.
She was enchanted by the power of make-up through richness of colors, scents, a great feel of material, and recognized great pleasure
in applying color to the faces of people. Shortly after, Harumi
returned to Japan and enrolled in formal training at a make-up school.
After she graduated from Estate Beauty School make-up and hair styling academy, in Osaka, she started her career as a make-up artist
in fashion magazines, runway shows, & television.
In 2001, Ms. Machii produced hair & makeup shows, "The Masquerade Ball" and "Christmas Illusions" with "House Productions Asia" team.
Each show attracted more than one thousand guests.
After moving to
NYC in 2002, her works have been published magazines Model Ephemeris and Camera
Arts.
